Science, technology, engineering, (arts), and mathematics or more commonly known by the acronym STEM or STEAM are the encouraged fields of study pushed by the current education system and employment market.
The first three subjects (science, technology and engineering) are pretty easy to understand in terms of importance both in personal use and when seeking employment. But we have a question.
Is mathematics really important outside of standardized testing?
Of course it is! Mathematics is the most underrated and underappreciated subject children learn in school because it’s hard to see the immediate benefits.
As individuals who loved math class even we would be lying if we said that learning math was really exciting. Yes getting the right answers was rewarding but it was always hard to shake the “when am I really going to use this” mentality. But what if we could change that by making math not only fun to learn but useful in everyday life?
